Play Tic-Tac-Toe Online

Create a public room and wait for an opponent, or use a private room to invite a specific friend. The host chooses X or O before sharing the link or room code; the joining player automatically takes the other mark, and X moves first. Visitors who open a game already in progress without holding one of the original seats join as spectators.

Create a room

Choose a room type, then use its link or room code to invite a friend.

Room type

Public rooms use a shorter code and appear in the public list for anyone to join. This browser can keep only one public room at a time.

Join a room

Paste a friend's share link or enter the room code. Join a waiting room to start playing; a game already in progress opens in spectator mode.

Tip: Leaving a room does not end the game immediately. The host can re-enter through My rooms below or close the room. If both players leave, the room is kept for about 20 minutes. Room codes are used only for this match and do not store personal information.

Public Lobby or Private Link

Use a public room when you need an opponent; it appears in the lobby while you wait. If you have already arranged the game, create a private room and send the link directly. Both use the same rules. Once the two seats are filled, later visitors can only watch.

Options for creating a public or private tic-tac-toe room

Private Means Unlisted

A private room stays out of the lobby, but it has no separate password or account check. The link and room code are the access keys; anyone with either can open the room. Send the link directly, and keep the full code out of public chats, streams, and screenshots.

Your Seat Stays With This Browser

The host chooses X or O, the next player gets the other mark, and X starts. Your seat is tied to a reconnect token stored in the current browser, not to the shared link. Return with the same browser after a disconnect and you can usually reclaim the seat. Use another device or clear site data, and the link will usually bring you back as a spectator.

Leaving Is Not Resigning

Going back to the lobby or losing the connection is not a resignation, and the room link keeps working. Once both players are offline, the room usually remains available for about 20 minutes. Choose Resign to end the current game as a loss. To invalidate the link immediately, the host must close the room. A synced move cannot be undone by one player alone.
