This policy applies only to tictactoe.plyyard.com. Ordinary play does not require an account, but the absence of registration does not mean no data is processed. Local modes use browser storage, online rooms send room state to a server, and the hosting service processes the technical information needed to complete requests.
Information ordinary play does not require
Playing does not require a name, email address, phone number, or password. The site has no ordinary user registration or login system and does not require identity documents or payment information to begin a game.
Players currently appear under fixed, generic labels. The site has no public profiles, friend lists, or identity pages that follow a player from room to room.
Information stored in the current browser
AI and same-device modes use local storage for the position, move history, AI level and side, and interface choices such as sound, sidebar state, and theme. Online mode stores a host marker, seat reconnect token, and current room identifier. These random identifiers restore a room seat; they are not account credentials.
Clearing site data for tictactoe.plyyard.com will usually remove those games, preferences, and reconnect information, after which the original seat may no longer be recoverable. Whether uninstalling the PWA also removes site data depends on the operating system and browser.
What online rooms synchronize
The room server processes the room code, side selection, seats and reconnect identifiers, game state, moves, resignations, draw offers, spectator count, and creation and last-activity times. This information is used to validate moves, synchronize the board, restore seats, and manage the room lifecycle.
A public room's code, status, side selection, and occupancy may appear in the lobby, and any visitor may join or watch. Private rooms are omitted from the public list, but anyone with the complete link or room code may attempt to enter. Treat a shared private-room link as an access credential.
Network requests and infrastructure data
- Pages and board assets: Hosted by this site and loaded through your browser.
- AI search: Move calculation runs locally in your browser; the position is not uploaded to a cloud game engine.
- Online rooms: A WebSocket connection exchanges state with this site's room service. AI and same-device modes do not require that connection.
- Hosting and security: To deliver pages, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures, hosting services may process standard technical data such as IP address, request time, browser headers, requested path, and error information.
- External resources: Board fonts and content images are served by this site; the primary interface does not depend on a third-party font or image CDN.
Cookies, advertising, and analytics
Ordinary play uses no login cookie. The site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-8EWY47HNXY) to understand aggregate traffic such as page views, approximate region, device type, browser, and referral source. The same measurement ID is used on the Ply Yard studio site and other Ply Yard game hosts, so Google may treat visits from the same browser across those hostnames as related. Analytics is not used to replay games and is not tied to a player account; advertising storage is denied by default. Cloudflare also injects a Web Analytics script to measure page-load performance at the edge; those beacons go to a same-origin endpoint on this site. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Blocking analytics does not prevent you from playing.
Installing the site as a PWA
After the site is added to a home screen, the browser or operating system stores icons, cached files, and site data on the device for quicker opening. A cache may briefly retain an older interface. Clearing site data removes local content; uninstall behavior varies by platform.
When you email us
If you write to contact@plyyard.com, we receive the sending address, mail headers, and any text, screenshots, or device details you choose to provide. We use them to classify the report, reproduce the issue, and reply—not to build a marketing list.
Do not send passwords, payment information, identity documents, or unredacted screenshots containing another person's private information. None of that is needed to investigate a board issue.
Minors and room links
The site does not ask ordinary players to provide their age. Guardians should help minors avoid publishing private-room links or including names, schools, contact details, or other identifying information in email or screenshots.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains under the browser's control until you start a new game, clear site data, or the browser removes it. Rooms are generally cleaned up after both players have been offline for about 20 minutes; waiting and completed rooms also have short expiration periods. Technical logs and email are retained only as needed for operations, security, troubleshooting, and applicable legal requirements.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if storage, room services, advertising, or third-party integrations change materially. A new version applies after publication; review it again after a relevant feature changes.
